ya might try to contact scott at www.aristocraftboats.com

while i can't find where it's posted up. i'd swear that i read that he'd found an outlet for the fake woodgrain contact paper for my kinda boat. i'd think i'd work for your boat too. it's just sticky paper that looks like wood.. might be worth a call anyways..

What you're looking for is contact paper. I doubt the boat manufacturers go out of thier way to use specialized stuff.

Try your local Home Depot or similar store. Just ask for contact paper. The other option is to go to a local cabinet maker or other woodworker and have them make a real wood dash.:D

I seriously doubt contact paper (opperitive word being PAPER) would hold up on a boat

My old SeaSwirl had Formica for the dash panel. I'd hit up a local cabinet shop or counter top shop as the 1'x2' piece you are looking for is scrap to them, you might get it for free.

i recently had this problem with my Ranger 354v and looking around iwanted mine to look like the new z series. so i just went to a vinyl shop and they printed me off carbon fiber 10 year vinyl. popped my gauges out and over layed it and put my gauges and switches back on. they printed up a seperate sheet that just had the identifications of each switch. cut them out and put them on really straight and centered. you couldnt ever tell that it wasnt stock. and for the low cost of 14 bucks.

I just finished my dash with a piece of thin gauge aluminum diamond plate. I used a jig saw and hole saws for the circle cutouts. It wasnt the easiest project but i have bitten off worse!

I used a 1/16" thick luan door skin, stain and a few coats of varnish. Door skin from Home Depot was 6.00

That sounds like a great Idea...I am looking to update my dash and glove box to carbon fiber as well.
