I really don't but any Merc dealer can get them. Most stock them.

Good luck!

Re: WOT Performance Question

Check out the Teleflex site. They have many water pressure gauges and lots of dealers carry them. I got a 30PSI kit (gauge, tube, fittings etc.) for my looper, it was about US$30. A lot cheaper than a blown motor and real easy to install.

Re: WOT Performance Question

I called my dealer. They have a 30psi kit for $71.50.....

That sounds a little high! Anyone know of a kit I can purchase online that may be more reasonable?

Re: WOT Performance Question

Well, update time...

I've raised the motor two notches up... And have intalled the water pressure guage....

Going to take it out tomorrow and see what happens... I'm going to lower it just a bit with the jack plate first (don't want to make too big of a change)...
I'll let you know....

Re: WOT Performance Question

My opinion is that it is going to fix the chinewalk problem, but I also think you would be amazed at the performance gain you would achive with smart tabs, Im putting them on my Bass Boat and will report back.

Re: WOT Performance Question

If the ranger is riding high on the pad, and it has a severe chine walk, bringing the motor up will help but may not get rid of the chine walk altogether. It may be manageable. Let us know!

Re: WOT Performance Question

Here are the results....

After a two notch up move with the motor...
The replacement of both head gaskets (which was unrelated to my chine walk problem)...(had water in one cylinder)
I had a 23P prop on the motor compared to a 24P that I usually use....

I took the boat out today and ran it for the first time with the above changes....
Is was a nasty day due to high winds, but managed to open it up anyway...
If you remember I normally ran 5100rpm at WOT at about 58-60mph... chine walked when I tried to gain more....

Today at the lake I had the motor tilted out as much if not more than I ever have (according to my tilt guage anyway)... It reached 5800 rpms and never chine walked... It didn't reach above 55 mph, but I believe that had something to do prop pitch change and the rough water... 1 to 2-1/2' white caps....
Everything looks good so far.... I'm going to put the 24P prop on and do some further testing... I still think I can tilt out farther... No loss of water pressure, but still no rooster tail yet!!!!
I think I gained 200 rpms with the reduction in prop pitch and the rest due to the raise of the motor and head gaskets.... 700-800rpm gain all together...
Thanks..
