1995 175 evinrude intruder motor. I finally got the sneeze out of it and now i have a whole new problem. I recently changed thermostats and took out my temp sensors from the heads and checked them and reinstalled. I read a earlier post about routing those wires away from my spark plugs as not to cause interference. I don't know if that was my problem or not. I used to could get my motor to turn 5600 no problem sometimes a little more. Here lately it might get to 5400. It also hits a spot in the 4000-5000 range were it hesitates or misses. Probably more of a miss. Also when you open it wide open the motor seems to flatten out and stop pulling. I have to trim it almost all the way up to get 5400. It stops pulling around 5000 and thats when i have to start trimming it out to achieve 5400. Motor sounds flats and runs flat on top end. Sounds like timing but i'am not sure. I had a omc mechanic use the omc timer on it to set it awhile back. Is there any way i could have messed up the timing?

Re: wot problem

Did this start right after the timing was set? Check pack output voltage to ignition coils engine running in water. You can check the timing with a timing light engine running at idle, at 5000 rpms for full advance timing. Engine should be in water using a test prop.
