Hello, i have a 1986 110 omc runs very good, rebuilt 3 yrs ago, it is on a 19ft angler, the props are both ss 15 pich gives me 5600 rpm, the 13 pitch gives me 5800 rpm, that is with just myself on boat, the cav plate is even with the bottom of boat, which prop would be best to use?the boat comes out of the hole really good with the 13 in sst, thanks for replys

I would say the 13" is better provided that's around the upper end of ideal rpm's at WOT. Keep the 15 as a spare or sell it and buy a spare aluminum prop in case you spin the hub or something and use for emergency

Since the motor is mounted too low I'd raise the motor and test again. We always try to use the bigger of two given props and gain efficiency and rpm with set up. I would bet that you'll end up with the 15 and at 5800-5900 rpm. Truthfully it wouldnt surprise me if you ended up with a good 17".

Dhadley, The cavatation plate is even with the bottom of the boat, when i got the boat it was too low so i raised it up one hole to make it even! i don"t want to go higher in fear of damaging motor! do you think that i can go higher? i do not have a pressure gage on it, out of work now too so can not buy one.

I had a 115 on my starcraft, and with it mounted direct to transom, I could run in the 4th hole without loosing water pressure, but it was ventilating...<br />Most will run fine in the third hole..depends on design of transom, prop type and operator ability.
