Good day again!! I set my "cranking timing" with a fully charged battery (plugs out/grounded)to service manual specs.

1998 Mercury 150 v6 - cranking timing 21 degrees BTDC. WOT timing 17 degrees BTDC.

The engine runs great, idles very smooth and quite, good throttle response. I'm in the break in routine.

Am I supposed to run the engine WOT and recheck the timing? The service manual says 17 degrees WOT timing. Is it safe to do that test during breakin. The first 5 hours I'm instructed to keep the RPM's under 3500 (variable of course). Some good advice on this would be appreciated.
