I have been checking out all the posts and getting great info. Many of these refer to WOT, what the heck is that?

Re: Wot ?

WOT as mentioned Wide Open Throttle, if a engine manufacturer says operating range 4200-4800rpm that is the ideal WOT Range for that engine design, so with a boat loading of say 1/2 tank of fuel, and 2 persons of 150-200 avg, you would want the boat to be in the TOP of that range say 4700-4800 as when you put 2 more people on and a full tank of fuel and a couple coolers etc.. you'd be say around 4400-4500 hopefully so the engine isn't "lugging".

hope this helps.
