not against fwd since i havnt used it for anything ever mainly only drive trucks, bigger it is the easier that it gets stuck sadly... one thing to point out yes your engine and tranny are hovering over your drive axles adding 500 pounds of weight give or take for 6-8 cylinders and tranny 5 or 6 speed and what not. the problem is your putting wieght on the rear of the vehical taking weight off the front axle to much and your tires will only spin. kind of like 2wd in a mudd pit with out the locking diff also i dont recomend setting parking brakes, just me take it as a warning once you set it after a few years of never being used it may not come off and you will be stuck there.

What about when you put it in park and dont use the PB and that little weak park tranmission paw shears off on your tranny as you slam back against it as you get out?

As to the FWD our toyota suv can tow 3500lbs and i towed at that limit my 17ft javalin fish and ski with a 150hp johnson gt. With a wet ramp it will pull spin a half revolution then i feather the gas grabs spin grab spin and that was with one tire on dry pavement. No way in hell i would tow with a car a boat in that range. But of course yall in europe are crazy and use to doing stuff like that. Whats wrong with you go to u tube and look at the crazy euro launching those giant boats.

No, they aren't crazy. Americans 1) don't have a clue about driving, and 2) are afraid of their own shadow when it comes to driving/towing...

i agree with number 1 half the people on the road i see need to go back to driving school grandma i know you cant see that good but dont drive 30 in 55. sorry for tattling on you bro but just because you got your license last week doesnt mean we should go 100 down a country road its still 55 buddy.

i disagree with number 2 i will accualy back up with a trailer if i have an excuse to just to show off my mad skilz, take sunday at the ramp i had the 5th parking space and verses driving around onto the dangerous road i just backed up the extra 150 feet. i love towing big objects gives me an excuse not to look in the rear view mirror and see that i need a hair cut.

of course europeans are not crazy i have friends that live in germany they buy enough food to cover them for the day so they go shopping every day. they never throw out bad food since it never finds its way to the back of the fridge.

hate to say this but this thread is now off topic were talking about if an audi a4 can hual 3500lbs sucessfully, he has stated that he lives 3 miles away and only will use the ramp maybe 4 times a year. i say if you bring a friend along, like it was stated above if your tires spin put him on the front bumper for your added traction. my thing is weight wise its a lot for the vehical but for 3 miles, 4 times a year i think the audi will manage. best of luck!

Being in Ireland and all, he probably has to have trailer brakes. I think that is a requirement for any but the smallest of trailers.
And, as a point of reference, my fwd cars have always pulled my little whaler up ramps far better than my little 2wd pickups have.
