Re: Would I get into trouble with the CG?
But in any case, the Coast Guard formula is way beyond it's time and is bull$hit IMO. Anybody who doesn't think so should go ride in a 500 lbs flattie with a 900 hp V-drive that is perfectly legal and tell me that this outboard only law matters. Because if they ever outlaw my 700lbs hull with a 200 on it, that's what I'll be getting to replace it.

BTW- inlines are tough to tell but can be spotted with a bore scope to find the powerports present in a 140/150 and later (85or86+) ADI 115's.
Maybe - hard to tell the difference sometimes. An attorney might have a hard time telling if my zuki has stock port heights or not and finding an expert may require a translator too.BTW, boat manufacturers set HP ratings for a reason. They have designed and tested the boat. And the formulas used for calculating hp haven't changed over the years. Changing decals on the cowling won't change the hp. If you're in an accident, a sharp attorney will pick up on that, and the case of negligence against you will look even worse.
