It would push it about as well as I would.... swimming with the boat tied to my back.. and I'm no swimmer

I'd go at LEAST 140.

I have a 70 HP on my 18' and my top speed is around 28. I'm opting for a 115 at minimum for my repower...

oh yeah, don't do the conversion IMHO.

This is my boat with cuddy cabin not cut. ,, aynways i took out the motor in the back also the stern drive. motor weighted around 680 pounds (my brother in law junked it) so i'm gonna go head and take my chances guys..i heard good things bad things ..and i really appreciate your time and replies... so the motor weighed around 680 pounds lets add 100 pound for the stern makes about 800 most so now i'm gonna remove the custom gas tank from the mid section of the hull to gain space and custom the gas tank in the back cavity where the motor was!! also give a space to my outbard in the back with bracket! however I need an advice how do i rebuilt the transom strong enough? so i can put the outboard to it.?

nO NO TRANSOM IS NOT ROTTED AT ALL,, BUT IT'S NOT THICK ENOUGH TO HANG THE OUTBOARD I THINK.

So we are talking about basically a 40 hp engine pushing a 24-25' cabin cruiser with a family aboard over planing speed at 20-25 mph.

No, what you're talking about is advertising that makes one think you could do that with a 50hp ... ;)

I'm gonna follow this thread...very curious as to how this will turn out...

My 18.5' bowrider has 190 HP, and I wouldn't want any less.
