I have a 6hp Fisherman 6802C - just started up for the first time in years and put it on the boat on the pond - started right up fine but noticed it was smoking a lot - I put this down to too much oil in mix so didnt worry about it for now - was running good - it LOOKED as though water was coming out of exhaust so assumed impellor working - ran it around the pond a few times and then it slowed down and stalled out - the engine seemed to be very hot indeed - could too much oil in mix cause engine to run too hot or is the most likely culprit the impellor not working correctly?

Thank you,

Lee

Too much oil will not cause hot running. Cooling problem.

"First time started in years." Your impeller probably disintegrated. Always replace every 2 years, better annually.

Good luck. :)
