I have a 8year old x75 that has been a great sonar. Two years ago I bought a 4800M global map. I been thinking of upgrading my sonar to a X135 to match my globalmap.

The X75 has 240X240 pixels at 600 watts.

The X135 has 480X480 pixels at 4000 watts.

The 4800m is fairly new and its monochrome. I think if I went color with my sonar I will no longer like my globalmap. I can`t see spending the money to upgrade both to color. Monochrome doesn`t bother me and I can see greater advantange to having a color GPS as opposed to a sonar.
The X125 has a Amber back light so the X135 is a better match to my GPS.

Is the jump from the X75 to the X135 worth it?

I`m kind of on the fence with this. Any ideas will be appreciated.

If I upgraded I would go color.

I would up grade if you fish in water deeper than 50 feet or so and for sure I would up grade for 100 feet of salt water. 75 watts RMS or 600 watts PeP is just not enough power if fishing any depth at all. Keep in mind that can not use the old transducer.

If you are fishing Shallow water up 60 feet or less then the power and resolution is not a big deal. Deeper water then power and resoultion make a big difference.
