yahama 115 4 stroke water in oil

I have a 2000 115 4 stroke yahama that has had the complete power head replaced 160 hrs ago (now out of warranty) and at 158 hrs I change the oil. Then 2 run hrs later I checked it and there is water in the oil. Any Ideas

The power head was repaced under waranty it was the dealers idea. Also prior to this the oil pump was changed under a recall.. I talked to the dealer this am and they though it might be the oil pump gasket or a head gasket... paul

I hope you don't have the same problem as I have just encountered. Symptoms: Cloudy oil on dip stick, tan in colour, Then oil weeping from crank case and camshaft seals, Then no oil in engine alarm. The motor is an F115 2002 model done 19 months (500 hours) on a demo cat (2 motor rig like yours), and serviced regularly by professionals. On disassembly the bores were glazed, #1 big end bearing worn, rings worn, seals had badly grooved the crankshaft. My motor is basicly F....d. <br />30-May-2004 I have deleted some of my ealier post as my second motor has now flooded its crankcase with petrol while it was standing idle. I will post the results of our findings later.

I have a 2002 115 4 stroke EFI Mecury (It has alot of Yamaha parts i.e. power head) I have also have a problem with water in my engine oil. Mercury has put a high temp thermostat and a new set of plugs along with a new ECU. It came up to about $1500 it is still under warrenty. I have been told by Mercury that up to a cup full of water is within acceptable parameters. I am currently seeking legal representation. I belive there is a design flaw in the power head on all Merc's and Yama's Power heads 115 4 stroke models. They refuse to replace my motor. I will have my day in court and then see what they will do !!!!!

I am close to finishing up the final preperation on a Class Action Law Suit. Anybody with a MOD:2000-2004 115 hp, 4 Stroke, YAM, or MERC Engine. I will be looking for info !!! SER # and name. I have found a serious life limiting design problem with the above engine. Its time MERC comes clean with it. I have gave them plenty of chances. More to come.....<br /><br />TUCKER1

I had the same problem. Water in the oil in a 115 2000 Yam. I had it fixed, but I would think the motor is not going to last. I had to pay about $500 to have the gaskets replaced. So now I have a motor that is not long for this world. I would sure like to join your law suit.Let me know what you need from me.?
