Have 100 HP 4 stroke yamaha about 2002 model which is carberated and will not start. Have taken drain plugs out of carbs and using primer ball all have gas coming out. If using a spray bottle with gas and spray in intake it starts and runs well as soon as stop spaying motor runs till fuel in intake used and stalls. Is there some electronic control that will cause the motor to not get fuel from carberators?

Re: yamaha 100 HP fuel problems

nope.
take the carbs off and clean them.
you will need a manometer to properly reset the throttle shutters.
hopefully in the near future I will post some pics of a sety of F80 carbs that I did today, also did them 5 weeks ago, on a 2004 carolina skiff.
this fine new gasoline is dissolving his tank, fuel level guage float and the fill cap.
and yes I will charge again as I did not place the trash in it.
also you will have to remove the fuel lines from the carbs to access the carb inlet filters.

Re: yamaha 100 HP fuel problems

Thanks for the reply rodbolt,
I didn't mention that it was just tuned up at shop and they said it ran fine. They changed the fuel filter, new plugs and adjusted the idle. They say they also test ran it. When we put it in the water within a few days after a 300 km drive it wouldn't start.I would bring it back to the same shop, except it is over a 3 hour drive and the boat stays were it is for the winter. I just thought it may have been something simple. Would all 4 carbs cause a problem at the same time or would it start and run on a couple of cylinders?
