Yamaha 115 4S squeal at low RPM

I just took delivery of new boat/motor in June. Boat is a 19' CC. I have had zero problems but just recently after running at higher rpm and pulling power back to around 1500 i notice a faint squealing sound. Pee hole discharge looks strong, voltage shows 14.7. Other than this faint squeal (which itself is sort of intermittent and only noticable at low RPM) it runs strong and smooth. Is this anything to worry about?

Also, I hear about the alarms reading thru the threads and the manual, which i have thankfully never heard. But i see no test for the alarms in the manual. Why not i wonder?

thanks

the alarm test procedure is in the 04,05,06 and 07 marine tech guides.
the squeal is most likly the timing belt sqeeking, its normal. it could also be the drive shaft bushing in the mid section is dry. there again its normal and wont hurt anything it just annoying sometimes.

Chrism, I have the EXACT same symptoms on my F90 that you have described. I'm going to follow Rodbolt's advice and let it ride (unless it changes significantly). I'll mention it to the Tech the next time it's in the shop for routine maintenance.
