Hey guys i have a 2001 yamaha oil injected 2 stroke engine has aprox 80 hrs. The motor does not idle properly all the time, it will slowly drop rpms and die it does not look like it is running rich when rpm drop. sometime you have to crank on engine for 30 sec to get it to start i have changed plugs and ran ring free additives. I have herd of the smaller engines having power pack problems, what do you think? thanks robert

Sounds like the carbs are due for a cleaning. Idle jets are getting jammed up. After you get them cleaned make sure you get a fuel/water seperating fuel filter installed. (Racor)

sounds like a tad bit of fuel nasties in the idle fuel jets. may be time to clean the carbs. usually caused by lack of running. sometimes its hard to run them enouugh.

Re: yamaha 115 please help

an external water separating filter is necessary equipment. check the filter under the cowl its a window to everything downstream. pour the contents into a container and look carefully for water or dirt, if you have never spotted water in fuel you may not see it so add some clean gas to that mix. the water will lay at the bottom.
