Yamaha 1991 L250TXRP

I may be purchasing a 1991 Yamaha L250TXRP that seems to be in good condition. The owner states Two of the carbs sputter out in high rpms, he says the mechanic says the high power jets need cleaned. Is there any negative history on this model outboard? Help!

DO NOT buy that engine until you see it successfully seatrialed and see the engine perform at 5000-5500 RPM.
just say no.
no real problems but it is a VERY old motor and can be VERY expensive to repair.
also make sure the gearcase oil is clear and not milky then be prepared to catch up on the maint.
