Hello all.

My father purchased a Hurricane deck boat last year that has a 1985 150 HP Yamaha on it. I'm not very familiar with outboards, but it seems to be putting out gas through its water stream. When the boat is running you can smell gas, and there is what looks like gas in the water when idling or going slow enough to see your wake. The engine seems to be running on all 6 cylinders powerwise, the only problem when running is when you go WOT the engine will cut out and slow down on its own. No warning lights or noises that I can hear. I read that the engine has a emergency cutout for something, but I don't know for what it included. When it cuts out, you can back off the throttle and it will kick back in and let you cruise at a lower RPM. It will occasionally stall at idle, but for the most part, the only running issue is at very high to WOT.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Time to stop and service the fuel system including the carbs.
