When I turn the key to start the engine, the starting relay buzzes and the engine does nothing. I have replaced the battery and the buzzing starting relay. This did not correct the problem and the relay continues to buzz when I turn the key on. When the key is turned to start, the buzzing stops. I have continuity checked the wiring harness. That seems to be correct; however, the wiring harness was replaced last season with a used one by a Yamaha mechanic. During the search for the problem, I was checking the wiring harness and put it back together and the engine started as usual. I turned it off and attempted to restart, nothing. During that process, the power tilt and trim quit working.,
I checked the power tilt and trim motor by jumping the blue and green wires to the battery and everything worked. The voltage on the PTT relay is 6 volts. I suspect that the wiring harness has a broken wire or a broken/shorted pin in the cannon plug. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I dread taking it to Yamaha to set for 3 weeks while I could be trouble shooting the problem.,:facepalm: Thank you for any assistance.
