Yamaha 2005 tach installation

I repowered my boat with a 225 FS yamaha in 2005. Motor is a 2005 model. The dealer installed a n analog tach and left the tilt and trim indicator out.

Recentley - I purchased a new Yahama digital tach which is supposed to work with 2005 motors up.

I was supplied a cable with the tach. No instructions were supplied. Will the existing analog tach conections be sufficient or do I need to run the new harness to the motor. If I need to run the new harness I am at a loss to find where it connects on the motor?

post the part numbers of the tach and the harness and the full model number of the motor.
also try to tell us if this is a non-US market motor.
