yamaha 250 electrical

i have a 250 ox66 which i just recently put on my boat, i redid all the boat wiring, now comes the ob wiring is this pretty much a connect the same color wires deal (controls,tach,etc) and as far as the heavy black cable that goes to the battery can both red wires go to the same positive terminal (i have a perko battery switch) which wire is the altenator wire(is that on the heavy black cable?)
