Yamaha 2B 2hp

I've just bought a 10' boat and a Yamaha 2B engine. I'm not sure of the age of the engine - it's a 2hp and it's plate number is 6A1022229, if anyone could help with that -

The engine is nice and free, I've changed the spark plug, drained out the bottom of the carb and put new fuel in but it doesn't start. Is there anything I should look out for?
