Yeah it worked great, but I have to ditch the rebuild. Shaft bearing failure damaged the casing near the water port and there's too little material left there to make me comfortable with putting money into it. I was excited because I went right to inspecting the gears and all of that is fine. Time to let this powerhead go and put it down on a new Honda..
this type of stuff is a reminder to all boaters to drain the lower unit each year and refill with new lube before putting it away for the off season, Do not let seal problems destroy the lower unit while sitting
