We recently came onto a nice 1994 Yamaha 40 HP with tilt & trim. The tilt/trim is not operational although there is voltage beyond the relays toward the motor and the relays switch as I assume they should. The motor itself cannot be raised or lowered by hand and there may be a release valve somewhere but not sure where it is. Since we don't see a need for tilt/trim at this time would it be advisable to remove it and is it a difficult job? Any help will be appreciated. If removed would repair be easier?
