yamaha 4ac starting problems

hi i own a 4 hp yamaha outboad model 4 ac about ten years old this hasnt done a lot of running and has been in storage for the last 3 years it has just been serviced and normally starts first or second pull .after running the engine for about 2 hours (starting and stopping) with no problems .it cut out needing to be refueled once refueled it would not start or run again with out the choke as soon as you try to turn the choke off it just stalls .has anybody got any idears or things i could try thanx

Ahoy, Bobby.<br /><br />Welcome to iboats. <br /><br />You almost certainly have a gummed up carb.<br /><br />Just to be sure, go to the Engine FAQs and do the simple troubleshooting in the "Outboard wont start" posting.<br /><br />Good luck, and let us know what you find.
