I have three at 120 and one at 90. the marine mechanic tells me that he thinks the best way is to start by taking the head off and going from there if it doesn't prove to be the problem.
I read a post that says:
what dummy would ever take a 4 stroke apart without a leakdown test when the reason for loss of compression wasnt known ?
Can someone tell me what a leakdown test is and give me a heads up on why it is the first step? if there is low compression in one cylinder and the cause is not yet known - can someone tell me what the right procedure should be? I think the mechanic means well - but pride might get in the way.
I have read a lot of other posts about people with problems like I have had - I don't want to throw money out the door if I don't have to
Thanks for any advice
