Yamaha 85hp will not run past 2000 rpms

I have a 1996 C85 Yamaha that had been sitting for a year and a half, starts good, idles smooth, but when put under load I can only get around 2000 rpms and will not plane out. Ran fine before sitting. Put in fresh gas, replaced external fuel filter, checked internal fuel filter (OK) replaced water pump inmpeller, used carb cleaner as recomended by Yamaha dealer, replaced plugs. No difference. Anyone got any ideas?

if you didnt physically remove your carbs and clean them internally i would say your pickups are blocked and need a clean. also do the basics to rule out the simple things like compression and spark tests.
