I have 1990 cv85 hp outboard, that will start when choked, but will not idle. I've changed tanks, spark plugs, flush carb out with cleaners. Have ripped it down yet. Any suggestions
When you say you flushed the carb with cleaners what specifically do you mean? The reason for asking is that unless you disassembled the carbs and then cleaned them with solvent and compressed air you probably only succeeded in denting your wallet and your spare time. If you have a good spark and the engine cranks with choke but won't idle well the problem is likely in the carbs and from that description is running too lean at idle. You may be able to enrichen the idle circuit but if that doesn't fix it you need to revisit the carbs insides.
