Yamaha 9.9 4-stroke not peeing water

I need advice on getting water to pee from pilot hole. New water pump 5 hours ago (3 months). water inlet on lower unit not blocked. Water barely dribbling from pilot hole. Any suggestions? Thanks! p.s. I'm dumb as a stump so please be basic and don't assume I know anything. :redface:

Wasps, bugs, worms build nest in pee holes, stick a fine wire up in there to open it up. If that doesn't do it, then disconnect pee tube from fitting on motor block or head and stick the wire in there, you may have some trash, pepples, sand, shells blocking the flow. Run the motor while probing with the wire so you can see if you're doing any good.
