Hi,
First time poster here and hoping someone can help out. I have always had smaller boats and finally bought a bigger 16 ft boat with a 1990 Yamaha jet.
I now have a 1990 Yamaha jet 2 stoke with a blown cyclider, and I now understand the comment about a "boat is a hole in the water you pour money into" engines are very expensive!
While I was trying to figure out my best option I came across a 2000 Yamaha 90 2 stroke (prop)for a great deal so I bought it thinking that I might be able to swap the jet straight across and have a motor thats 10 years newer for a lot less than repairing the old one or buying a new one.
My question is can I swap the jet straight across and the second question is are a lot of the parts from the 1990 the same as the 2000 because I was thinking of keeping it for spare parts.
Thanks for your help

Re: Yamaha 90 Jet

most parts will interchange, as long as the shft lengths are the same the swap is just that. a swap.
