yamaha 95 250 loosing power

i have twin yamahas 250 '95 on my boat and one of my engines was running at 3800rpm for5 minutes and it started loosing rpms. it runs fine without load but will only stay under 2k rpm under load it has plenty of Yamalube oil in tank. what does anyone think it may be or what should i check ? thanx in advance..Pete

can ya give a bit of maint history?<br /> last fuel pump replacement, engine fuel filter replacement,hull water seperator, such minor stuff as that. also last remote oil oil filter cleaning or engine oil tank water trap draining. give us an over view of the maint history. you will also need to attach the diagnostic lamp to test for any fault codes. also a defective or stuck open t-stat can cause that problem.

which cyl? and are ya gonna repair it or replace the entire engine? I know where a pair of 99 OX 66 250 25" motors are with fairly low hours and ran good when replaced with some 05 F225's.
