I had cylinder rebored and redone last year end of season. Mechanic sais that since he overloaded the 2 stroke oil to make sure the new cylinder was lubed the engine would run poorly until the 2 stroke burned off.

When we ran it this week at 2000-2500 RPMs we could only get 10-15 mph out of it and it sounds like crap. Then out of nowhere it will come up to speed and throw you back in the chair.

Has anyone experienced this after a cylinder job? Could it be a cylinder getting stuck? A fuel issue perhaps. It's almost as if you were to run a lawnmower with the choke ON and then when turned off the engine picks up speed.

I am stuck at the slip during the best fishing of the year and it's breaking my spirit right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
