Now I'm going nuts! I worked out that I had no spark on the left bank of the V4 (looking at it from the rear) and so went throught the whole nine yards of: CDI unit , trigger stator etc... and nothing! then I disconnected the plug to the oil control unit and hey presto spark ong the left bank and then before my eyes it went from spark on the two cyliners and then spark on one (the lower) then intemittent on the one then nothing again! so I got to thinking (yes I know it's dangerous) and thought what about if???? could the oil module be telling the CDI unit to shut down things and go into limp mode?... since then I have tried to replicate the situation and no go... so now I'm really bambossled! Can anyone tell me if the oil unit (under the oil tank in the motor could do this if faulty? and if so is there a way of confirming this by by passing it to make sure before I order yet more parts?.. the thing that is spacing me out is that there is no alarm ... if the unit is infact faulty?
I would really appreciate some help with this one...
