yamaha electric shift daul station

I have a 2001 yamaha 150 hp, ox66 f.i engine, single motor, daul station shifter and thottle. The boat has a yamaha 6x1 electric shift control. Problem first started with no foward or reverse from lower helm, went to upper helm station, had forward and reverse from there. Local boat mechainic said the cables were bad in lower station, recommended to replace all cables due to age. Had him replace all 6 cables. Now we have no shift from either station, thottle works fine from upper and lower helms. This system has 2 boxes, one box has the 2 thottle cables and 2 shift cables going in to box with thottle cable going to engine. There is a 3 wire contector going from this box to the electric shift box, 1 cable from this box going to the power head. I can not find any diagram on this system. There is a 10 wire connecter coming from the shift box. I need a trouble shooting diagram and or wiring diagram for this unit. I belive that we have lost the signal or power supply to this box. Where does this shift box get its main power from?

not that difficult to test. ill hunt about a bit but there isnt much information on it.
lucky for me the US taxpayer spent a LOT of money training me for electronic troubleshooting some years back.
the 06-07 rigging guide has wiring diagrams and some troubleshooting tips as well as detailed installation instructions.

thanks for answering, is there a way you can send me the 06-07 rigging wiring diagram? On the 10 pin connector should there be 12volts going to shift box. Where might I get the rigging book you descriped? The local yamaha dealer has been no help, just keeps saying bring it in and 95.00 an hour they might be able to track down the problem. Any help will be appreciated.

with you not having the manual and I do this post could go on for years.
get a copy of LIT-18865-00-07 from any yamaha dealer, if they dont wish to sell it to you call the yamaha consumer tech phone.
