I have F100 2003. Two years ago the trim display started to work temporary. Last year it stopped working at all. Now the display shows all the time same position. Trim it self is working very well.
I think there is a sensor somewhere, but where it is?

The trim sensor is on the engine clamp bracket; lift the motor up and you will see the sensor on the LH side of the bracket, near the tilt rams. It has 3 wires going from it to the engine, pink, black, and orange.

as of 2001 all yamahas for the us market have a 2 wire sender, pink and black.
on the F100 its located about the center just behind the steering tube, follow the wires that exit the pan and run fwd on the port side.
sometimes, with no maint, the sender sticks, the sender cam occasionally breaks.
takes 45 min or so to replace both.

Ok, now I found the sender. It is mechanically abnormal fixed. Is there some good method to loose that sender? I sprayed CRC to the sender.
