Yamaha F150 problem

I have a pair of Yamaha F150's. The engines get a lot of use, but recently they sat for about 5 months. The port engine was not taking on a load and would not go over 3300RPMs. I changed the fuel filter in the motor, and took it out and ran good, on the way back in the engine started dropping RPM's again. When getting back to the dock, while in idle the engine would stall. It would crank right back up, but would keep stalling. Can anyone help me with this issue?
