My motor suddenly cuts out after a couple of minutes at full throttle. It will chug along at low rpms, but will power down again after a couple of minutes. Also, it takes forever to get up on step regardless of how I trim. Does this sound familiar to anyone??

what do you mean full throttle, what rpm is it hitting, and how much is it dropping. When you say it powers back down do you mean goes back up to higher rpm?
Sounds like you are losing a cylinder, missing spark or starving for fuel. does it help to pump the bulb?

the four stroke is taking much longer to reach "cruise" speed at about 5500 rpm. After it runs for a couple of minutes, itpowers down to troll speed and runs well at this speed. When I power it up again, it runs fine at wide open, then it does the same thing. I notice that the bulb is not hard but somewhat sunken. It doesn't heelp if I sqeeze the bulb because it feels somewhat empty.

Sounds like you need to check your fuel hose at the fittings. If your bubble is sunk in then your fuel line isn't letting fuel by to the motor. That will cause your symtoms. Been there I just took the fitttings off of mine and hose clamp it straight to the fuel tank and get a new on for the motor hook up.
