Dear All,

Please could somebody help re. my trim guage?

The guage constantly reads 3/4.

At the sender unit there are 3? wires going to a plug within the engine cowling. This goes to two green wires which run through to the guage. If I pull the plug on these two the guage does not change. I tried shorting the green wires and still no change.

If I take the yellow wire off the back of the guage the needle drops to no reading.

Any clues where the fault may lie?

Thanks for any help or info.

Re: Yamaha F50 trim guage

Looking at it a bit more and searching through the archieves.

There are 3 wires coming from the sender. This goes into a two wire plug so only two (green) wires go to the gauge.

At the gauge there are again 3 wires.

Am I a wire short by any chance? Is this the next thing to try - running a third wire?

Many thanks.

I forgot to say that the engine is a 1996 unit and the trim gauge is genuine Yamaha.
