Re: yamaha guage problem please help

I cant think of any black boxes that control the gauges.
apearently they are not yamaha guages. this is where a picture of the guages, keyswitch and back side of the gauges would be nice.
if the keyswitch and gauges are yamaha I can tell you the wire colors to test. sounds like you have lost the 12v power or the ground lead.
do you have a seperate keyswitch or is it a 703 sidemounted control with a builtin keyswitch ?

rodbolt, it is a 704 control with a seperate key switch.the black box has two plugs going in with pink,pink/blk,green on one plug and red, yellow and blk on the other.the plug comming out going to the guages has red, black and purple.all of these wires plug into every guage with a blue wire from the rocker swith to light them up.the black box also has a clear tube that connects to it marked prime.the wires are connected to the guages with a four pronged plug to each guage

Re: yamaha guage problem please help

you have non yamaha equipment that required a converter.
what model is your 115. pink is trim send,pink/blk is overheat visual, green is tach signal, red is 12v+,yellow is 12 key on + and blk is ground. but a model number will help me more. some pictures would be even better. thats why I only deal with OEM stuff as it requires no adapters :) .
so far I cant find any medallion parts for a yamaha on the net. the pink/black indicates its a 4 stroke but sometimes 2 strokes get rigged with that harness.
