When off the island today and took advantage of being near an auto parts store.
Back when I had an F-80 I printed a substitute list for YAMAHA oil filters off this site. Never used it but I recently changed oil/ filter and purchased the filter from the local dealer. Cost me $14.20 , last time I bought one I believe it was $8.50. So I go to NAPA and buy a filter that is a substitute. $4.99 for their number 21358, looks good to me. Does not have the YAMAHA name on it but the last time my FORD RANGER had a bonified MOTORCRAFT filter on it was the original filter 11 yrs. ago and it is still going strong at 110K miles.
I can now rethink changing the filter more often. This list might be somewhere back in the archives but I have no idea on how to find it. Will be happy to share the list if someone wants it, pretty much covers all popular brands. This would cover an F-115. Not meaning to pick on the dealers but in my case I can no longer afford some of their items an have to use suitable alternatives. regards FRED

Re: YAMAHA oil filter substitutes

It would help if you told us the year and complete model number of your motor. If your motor uses the Yamaha filter part number 5GH-13440-00-00 you can use the Sierra oil filter part number 18-7911 which is available on this website.
