Hmmmmm, I could buy 5 of those 200's for the same or less cost as one yammy. Wonder if 5 would outlast 1? No repairs, no maintenance, just junk it and put on another when needed. Never change an impellor or fuel filter, never rebuild a carb, etc,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Why are they showing Yamaha engines with the names blanked out? I would think something is strange.

however when it falls off the transom due to a bad casting, you have to swim back to shore to get the next disposable motor

That's a typical chinaman trick. I was at an engineering trade show and saw the same thing. They even airbrushed their own name in. When the US CEO confronted the China CEO about using their pictures he said that they do whatever they want and China doesn't have to adhere to US laws.

Bingo! Give that man a prize.

China does not play by the same rules as the rest of the world. But, we contiunue to buy their products. Nuff said.

On the china subject, when you go to the grocery store be sure to check where your food comes from.

That diatribe is misdirected. The founding fathers of Wallyworld put a lot of stock into selling "Made In USA" products. That's what they were founded on!

WM is a retailer, not a manufacturer. It's the manufacturer's that need to be taken to task. And of course, the US Govt. (AKA the Klintons) and their Fair Trade Agreement.

Look at any chinaproduct. The distributor is an American company, that at one time manufactured their products in the US. When the govmt gave them permission (and the stockholders encouraged the over paid CEOs), they got greedy and shipped the jobs overseas.

Don't blame Wally, blame Billyboy!

I wouldn't buy one... I've seen too many knock-off products that were far inferior to the real McCoy. Yeah, it's cheap, but it's cheap for a reason.

That diatribe is misdirected. The founding fathers of Wallyworld put a lot of stock into selling "Made In USA" products. That's what they were founded on!

Walmart may have been founded on "Made in the USA, but once Sam passed away, all bets were off. At the same time WalMart was plastering "Made in the USA" all over their adds, they were telling their suppliers to cut costs, we need it cheaper or we will find another supplier who can! They pretty much forced the manufacturer's go overseas, all in the name of cheaper prices. Of course corporate greed played right into this (politics, not going there), but it affected lots of businesses that had to "play along" or they would be forced out of business.

One of my friends built "widgets" here in the states, but had to start manufacturing in China to stay in business. If he didn't go overseas, he would have had to close up shop, he couldn't sell his "Made in the USA" product, too expensive. The kicker is, overseas,,, he could buy raw materials far cheaper than he could buy them here in the US, and the raw materials were manufactured here in the US to begin with!?!

When I took MBA courses 40 years ago, an acceptable company profit was xx%. Today, greed has required obscene profits to keep the stock market happy. Wall Street is the root cause of that.

Jobs would never have been shipped overseas if it was not only made an option, but encouraged. That's the true root cause.

Re: Yamaha outboard Copies from China?

Anyone ever come across any of these?
This motors appear to be copies of older Yamaha Motors. They can be found in 2 and 4 stroke configurations and go as high as 200 HP.
Are these the Yamabisi motors?

Shop outboard motor online - Buy outboard motor for unbeatable low prices on AliExpress.com

Cheapest Wholesale New 4 Stroke 150HP Outboard Motor-in Boat Engine from Industry & Business on Aliexpress.com

if you take note, they give you a price for each but you are required to buy them in lots of 10 or 20 motors minimum order to buy them

and as mentioned, truth in advertising doesn't apply to them so they are not showing you a picture of the motor they are selling but just some motor they stole a picture off so it might be a Nissan or a mercury or a Chrysler for all you know. most likely its just a scam to get money and you wouldn't ever receive anything you paid for.

chances are if you did receive a motor it would be whatever the state built brand motor is in china, whater that is.

I found these:

I drive around back of any local walmart. there are 4-10 ISO 40' containers all with chinese lettering down the side and chinese lettering on the lock. I walk in the door, flip over any item and find a made in china label on most of them.

Blame it on Sam Walton, Blame it on Bill and Hillary. either way, most of the stuff at Walmart comes from china. Then again, so do products such as Milwaukee Tool, Ryobi, Ridgid Homelite, Hoover, Dirt Devil and a few others now days. Hint, they are owned by TTI and made in China.

Re: Yamaha outboard Copies from China?

Most of the Chineese outboards are made at factories which also produces motorcycles, water pumps, you can find same engines branded as Sail, Parsun, Powerteck just to mention some names. Most of this out of this world prices comes in 10-12 engine purchase packages. Scenario : Buy the whole package, install one and use the rest as spare parts. These engines will take you there if used as aux & recreational engines, forget all about commercial usage, materials are light and not long lasting compared to US & Japan engine brands, but price comes attached on a hook...

Happy Boating

Those Chinese engines do not meet EPA or CARB emission regulations and thus cannot be imported and sold in the US legally.

They are popular in Australia because they are cheap but AU is talking about coming up with emission laws similar to the US ones.
