Just bought a P165 -very- cheap from a guy. He says randomly while crusing the engine will stall and not restart. He said he never had it looked at as someone gave him a higher power motor so he doesn't know what's wrong. It's an old motor, but in relatively good shape. I just got it tonight.
Is this a known problem with an easy fix?
I yanked the plugs earlier, will get new ones tomorrow (anyone know the recommended gap?), pulled the fuel filter too, it doesn't seem to be clogged but it looks ancient so I'll see if I can find a replacement as well.
I have a feeling maybe the carbs need to be cleaned, sounds like a carb issue to me anyways. Can you spray carb cleaner into these things without burning down the motor? Are the carbs hard to pull\need to be pulled to clean? Seafoam in the fuel mix sound like a bad idea? Any tips?
Thanks
