Possibly purchasing a 2004 215 Aquasport Explorer on Thursday. The saltwater series prop was still in the box (in the cuddy) and is a 15-1/4 x 17R.

I've read the Prop FAQ, but was wondering if this size prop sounded right for the boat (dry weight 3315 - I'm sure other factors go into the equation also)?

Thanks for any more experienced opinions.

Re: Yamaha SWS 200 OX66 - Correct Prop

hello
I first like to dyno or at least test wheel new engines as well as used ones. then I know I am propping the hull to the motor not masking a problem. my recommendation is to test the motor power output then select a prop that will allow you to run at the top of the RPM band with a medium load.
good luck and keep posting
