Yamaha Tachometer

I have a 1985 Yamaha 2 stroke 40 HP outboard model 40 ETLK. The motor in mounted on a Starcraft FM160. I want to add a Tachometer. I have a bundle of wires at the remote shifter. Is one of these wires for the tachometer? Color? They are terminated with bullet connectors.

What is the suggested RPM for WOT?
