Re: YAMAHA TRIM RELAY

On my Yamaha 90HP, the t/t relay is located on the starboard and rear side of the engine behind a plastic insulating cover which comes off with two or three screws. If you have a rocker switch on the engine for t/t, just follow the wires. The Clymer Yamaha Shop Manual provides the procedures for testing the relay and the tilt switch itself. My tilt did not work, but I heard the click when I hit the switch. I took a small block of wood and whacked the trim motor. Viola! It started working again. It worked on and off for about two years, until I finally broke down and had the motor replaced by a mechanic. A friend of mine has a 150 Yam which had a bad relay. You just need to troubleshoot it. Good luck.

on your Z150 the trim relay is located behind the plastic panel just aft of the engine fuse box on the stbd side. remove the 2 phillips screws for access.
