I am currently swapping out my 1985 yamaha 115hp with a blown piston(this engine lasted forever) with a used 1987 115hp. The 1987 appears to have the VRO disconnected. My questions are: What is the proper procedure to disconnect the VRO and run with mixed gas? I can reconnect/replace the system on the 1987 with parts from the 1985, is the only advantage to this a savings in oil?

I would prefer to run the engine with gas mixed in tank so I can draw from the main tank for my 2 stroke kicker as well rather than carry a portable.'

Thanks
