1988 Yamaha V6 Excel 220 hp<br /><br />Was out motoring around the other day and with the engine idling went to trim the motor up and the motor just died abruptly. Tried to start it and nothing...would not turn over. Jumped the starter directly from the battery and it started. Drove it back to the dock.<br /><br />Read up in the manual. Thought I found the problem, starter relay. Removed it, bench tested it and it failed. Replaced it but it still will not turn over. Checked the inline fuse on the motor and it is good. Put a meter on the relay positive and got 12v.<br /><br />Please help....Where to go from here?
