I know this is an easy question, but I've got to be 100% sure. My 4 stroke Yamaha 90 h.p. outboard was manufactured in 10/04. Is it a 2005 model or 2004?
Thanks for you time AND help as always!

You might get a better answer from the Yamaha section on these forums.

Re: Yamaha year ?

Yamaha is trying to get away from model year, claiming it is irrelevant. There is often a 1-2 year gap between the manufacture date and the sold date, with a "model year" in between. For example, mine was made Nov 2001 so you know it didn't get near a market until 2002, and it was sold on a new 2003 boat made in South Carolina--so it should be a 2003 but it's a 2002 made in 2001. The model number TXRB is 2002; TXRA is 2001 and TXRC is 2003 (if I recall the letters correctly but that's the process) even though they are identical.

Re: Yamaha year ?

Always post a model and serial # when asking for help like the stickies say as the newer motors need the serial also.
