I have a 1999 Yamaha 225 ox66 that is blowing fuses as soon as I turn the ignition key, All other electronics are fine. Happened for the first time Saturday, replaced the fuse and all was fine. Went out Sunday, ran fine for a few hours, then quit on the way back in. Replaced the fuse, nothing when I turned the ignition key, fuse was blown. Repeated numerous times. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to iboats.

Follow the main wiring harness from the key back to the motor. Sometimes a sharp edge will wear through the insulation and cause a short. Could also be a similar situation with the wiring to the gauges. Another common cause would be a pinched wire between the hood and the pan. Pop off the hood and see if that's it.

I used to own a sailboat made in Bristol, RI. Suprisingly enough it was called a Bristol. Hated to sell it, but I needed the dough.
