one day after having had this motor for about three months and using it a dozen times or so, i finally took the prop off to look at things. it came right off as it should, shaft was still lubed.

BUT

i found a little bit, 10 feet or so, of light duty fishing line wrapped between the prop and the seal. now the seal has a slow leak. :(

i've been an omc man up to this point, so forgive my ignorance, but how hard is it to change the lower seal on the prop shaft?

i'm mechanically apt, building my own automotive race engines, and i've rebuilt a couple of OMC lower units too. just want to know what to do and how much of a PITA it is.

can't say for sure. Have not done it myself yet, but looks like you will have to pull the housing just like the OMC's
