I have been driving from Florida to N.C for the past 13 yrs. I have gotten 2 speeding tickets in all that time. Both of them from the Lowndes Co. Georgia Sheriffs office. There is ALWAYS a construction zone and that median in I-75 is filled with their county troopers. One year I was rushing back after my daughters accident...7 mph over the posted 55. The ticket was $183. The other time I was stopped with a group of 5 cars.......good, I feel better now

All I am saying to you all is that higher speed limits are not inherently dangerous. Drivers are dangerous!

Thank you! that's what I've been saying all along. I see bad driver wrecks all the time in bumper to bumper traffic doing less then 30mph and they still wreck. Why? not paying attention, yapping on the phone, putting on makeup, rubbernecking, and just plain idiotic behaviors. I think a lot of drivers lack the ability to determine the speed of other vehicle. They can't really tell whether they should pull out or not. When they do and get hit and blame it on the speed of the other vehicle.
